$24,000 in Scholarships Available!

Thank you for your interest in the Minnesota Credit Union Foundation Scholarship Council scholarship. Credit unions are not-for-profit financial cooperatives. Unlike most other financial institutions, credit unions do not issue stock or pay dividends to outside stockholders. Instead, earnings are returned to members like you in the form of lower loan rates, higher interest on deposits, and lower fees.

The FSC is offering sixteen (16) $1,500 scholarships to credit union members throughout Minnesota, eight (8) to traditional applicants and eight (8) to non-traditional applicants.

This year's essay question is:
What personal financial challenge do you believe is unique to your generation, and how has it impacted your education, career goals, or future plans? We are interested in your unique perspective and lived experience - tell your story.

Any member of a Minnesota Credit Union Network affiliated credit union pursuing post-secondary education in the fall 2027/spring 2028 or is a high school senior graduating in 2027 is eligible to apply.

Submissions for the 2026-27 scholarship program will open on September 1, 2026. Applications must be submitted electronically by 11:59 p.m. Central Standard Time November 30, 2026. Applications submitted after the deadline will not be considered.
