We’re excited to announce the credit union professionals accepted into the Trailblazers Executive Readiness Training. 30 members of the inaugural cohort will participate in the 12-month program, which is designed to accelerate executive level leadership skills and build credit union specific knowledge needed to succeed in our industry.
Having high-potential leaders in the pipeline is critical for credit unions and the industry. Designed by Minnesota Credit Union professionals – the program is intended to prepare emerging leaders for executive level positions. Topics include Leadership Skills, Credit Union Financials, Credit Union Operations, and Strategic Planning & Growth. Courses will be facilitated by both experts in the field and current credit union leaders. Upon completion, participants will receive a Minnesota Credit Union Executive Leadership Certification. The event is planned to be back in person November 18-19, 2021 at the Radisson Blu MOA, Bloomington. In a letter to state chartered credit unions last week, the Minnesota Department of Commerce announced that it would continue to control the costs of regulation for another year and noted that prior year revenue was higher than expected.
As such, credit unions should see a reduction in this year's assessment and the examination rate will remain consistent. The assessment for fiscal year 2022 is $421,000, down from $453,000 in 2021 and $518,000 in 2020. The examination fee for fiscal year 2022 is $87 per hour. State chartered credit unions should contact Marcia Lewis, Minnesota Department of Commerce Chief Examiner with questions. The Innovation P2P will be an open format conversation with peers around credit union branch innovation that will include case studies and presentations.
