To address the ever-present demand for change, the Center for Economic Inclusion has developed the Racial Equity Dividends Index, a comprehensive tool to help businesses measure their progress towards building racially equitable and inclusive workplaces in Minnesota.
The Index assesses 37 business practices across the categories of leadership, hiring, culture, procurement, philanthropy, public policy, and products. Collectively, these practices represent emerging standards that are necessary to advance racial equity and inclusion in workplaces. The Index is designed for midsized and large private-sector businesses in Minnesota. Nonprofits and small businesses are welcome to register for and complete the Index survey, but their data may not be included in the 2022 Racial Equity Dividends Report, which will benchmark only private-sector companies. Nonprofits and small businesses who register for the Index will still receive a customized score report with their results. Upon completion of the Index, businesses will receive a copy of their score in the form of a customized, confidential report in 2022. Nationwide credit union service organization leader and founder of Vive Unlimited LeAnn Case will guide us through a process to bring awareness to our thoughts and how those thoughts effect how we lead.
The series will include three, one-hour virtual sessions: Monday, March 21; Wednesday, May 18; Tuesday, July 19. All sessions will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. You may sign up for individual sessions or for the entire series. Key Take-aways include:
Further descriptions of each session are noted below. Follow this link to register. March 21: Celebrating Your Successes The key to being an effective leader is to be an effective leader of ourselves. Yes. Ourselves. The Legendary Leaders series will first take time to be intentional about celebrating your successes. We’ll collaborate and learn from each other to recognize the qualities at play when we are thriving as leaders. There is greatness that already lives within us so let’s spend time talking about the qualities of a leader—because what we appreciate appreciates. May 18: Get Out of Your Own Way The second session in the Legendary Leaders series is looking at how we see ourselves evolving. Have you heard people say, “get out of your own way”? What does that even mean?! It means recognizing our strengths and then being intentional about putting those strengths to work. It also means being intentional about dismantling limiting beliefs that are living in our hearts and minds. Those limiting beliefs are sneaky buggers, so let’s talk about checkpoints and what to do so our minds stay clear and our purpose comes alive. July 19: Individual and Team Purpose Setting The third session is about goal setting. …eww. Just kidding. Let’s start with the why. Goal setting can be so gross to some people--maybe because they’ve never participated in the process or maybe they’re intimidated by goals having to be “S.M.A.R.T.” When we start with the why, the process can become fun. When we understand our purpose and have a shared purpose, there can be joy at work. Yep, joy. At work. We’ll talk about a fun and collaborative method for individual and team purpose setting that you can take back to your teams. We’ll put your legendary leader hearts to action so that you are living your joy-filled life and so are your teams.
Stay tuned for further announcements and updates!
