Minn. CU Advocates Gather in D.C. for CUNA GAC

Minnesota Delegation at GAC

Nearly 100 credit union professionals and board members are in Washington D.C. this week for CUNA Governmental Affairs Conference (GAC), the credit union industry’s premier advocacy event. 

​Highlights include:

•  Mark Cummins, MnCUN President & CEO, was honored with the American Association of Credit Union League's (AACUL) Farley Award. The award honors a league employee who demonstrates visionary leadership at the state and national levels.

• ​Karen Fleming, CEO of HBI Credit Union, and Dave Larson, President/CEO of Affinity Credit Union, were inducted into the Credit Union House Hall of Leaders in honor of their significant contributions to the credit union industry.
  
  
• Minnesota is represented by two young professionals who participating in the Crash the GAC program: Jenna Taubel, Director of Brand & Digital Member Experience for First Alliance Credit Union, and Kaitlin Lutsey, Member Account Representative for Royal Credit Union.
  
  
• Yesterday, Minnesota Delegation met with Minnesota U.S. Senators and Amy Klobuchar and Tina Smith.
• Pat Pierce, President & CEO of City & County Credit Union was elected as Treasurer for CUNA.
