Last week, MnCUN President and CEO Mark Cummins made the case for mentorship to develop credit union movement leaders in CUInsight:
"Mentoring is a cost-effective, valuable tool for developing the credit union movement’s most important asset, our people. A successful mentoring process depends on the partners sharing common goals and expectations, having a commitment to the mentoring practice, and giving and receiving trust and respect. Both the mentor and the mentee give and grow in the mentoring process. It can be a catalyst to assist motivated employees to advance their skills and careers while leveraging the vast experience, knowledge and passion of current leaders and professionals." Tristate Mentor Match is a 12-month program designed to build, grow, support, and inspire credit union professionals in their careers and commitment to the Credit Union Movement. We are seeking applications for both mentees and mentors. The deadline to apply is this Friday, Aug. 6th ! This program is a partnership among the Minnesota Credit Union Network, Montana’s Credit Unions and the Wisconsin Credit Union League to expand our reach and bring our collective members a rich and diverse opportunity to network and grow. You'll get to select if you prefer a Minnesota match or a match from another state. Questions? Contact Program Coordinator, Ranel Smith or League Liaisons, Mara Humphrey or Andrea Molnau.
