Minn. Credit Union Women’s Leadership Network Celebrates Accomplishments

Last week, credit union professionals from across Minnesota gathered to celebrate the accomplishments of Minnesota Credit Union Women’s Leadership Network this past year. The mission of the Women’s Leadership Network (WLN) is to inspire, empower, and advance Minnesota credit union women by creating a community of belonging, providing tools for personal and professional development, and resources to help women influence their legacy. The Minnesota Credit Union Women’s Leadership Network is a sister society of the World Council of Credit Unions’ Global Women’s Leadership Network.

The following accomplishments were achieved in 2022:

• Held 5 events  - 3 virtual, 2 in person
• 24 credit unions participated​
• Provided 224 hours of professional development
• Hosted speakers at Accelerate 22 & LEAD 22
• Expanded Ambassador steering group and appointed new chair
• Sponsored Coats for Kids, a Coat and Winter Gear Drive to support Kinship Partners at Lead 22

​The Anniversary Celebration was held Jax Café in Minneapolis, and featured keynote speaker Elisa Vicuña, co-founder of the Minnesota Aurora, a women-led, community owned soccer team. Elisa shared the Aurora story, and how this organization uses soccer to bring people together and lift up women and girls from marginalized communities.
