Minnesota Credit Union Network Hosts Accelerate 21

Last week, nearly 400 credit union professionals, board members, and exhibitors from across Minnesota convened for the rebranded MnCUN Annual Conference, Accelerate 21. Held at the Radisson Blu Mall of America in Bloomington, the conference featured guest speakers, educational sessions, networking, the state’s largest tradeshow and opportunities to support great causes. 

​Special guests included Jim Nussle, CUNA President and CEO and Minnesota Department of Commerce Commissioner Grace Arnold. Attendees heard virtual greetings from United States Senators Tina Smith and Amy Klobuchar.

Credit Unions Honor Colleagues during Awards Breakfast

Board Member Karen Fleming, HBI Employees CU, was presented with a gavel in honor of her contributions. Karen Fleming served as board chair from 2019 - 2021.

The Outstanding Credit Union Direct of the Year Award honor was awarded to Douglas Cooke, Duluth Fire Department Credit Union. This award is to a credit union member who best represents the credit union spirit through dedication to, and belief in, the credit union movement.

The Professional of the Year Award is given to a remarkable person who truly stands behind the “people helping people” credit union philosophy. This year, the Minnesota Credit Union Network’s honoree for Outstanding Credit Union Professional of the Year Award went to Chuck Albrecht, President/CEO of Mid Minnesota Federal Credit Union.

Additionally, the Foundation Scholarship Council honored Angela Mattson, Minnesota Catholic Credit Union, with the Volunteer of the Year Award and the Minnesota CU4Kids Committee recognized Megan Primeau, TruStone Financial Credit Union with its Volunteer of the Year Award.
