Minnesota Credit Unions Display Strong Financial Health

According to National Credit Union Administration’s (NCUA) Quarterly U.S. Map Review, Minnesota credit unions experienced solid performance along key indicators during the first quarter of 2023.

Highlights of the Quarterly Map Review include:

• With $39 billion in assets, Minnesota credit union assets grew 2.2%, which is above the national rate of 0.1%, ranking 7th nationally.
• Membership at Minnesota credit unions grew 1.2% in median year-over-year member growth, ranking 14th in the nation and above the national average of 0.2%. 
• Annual deposit growth was 1.3%, ranking 8th nationally.
• 94% of Minnesota Credit Unions had positive year-to-date net income, compared to 85% nationally and ranking 5th in the nation.​
